One Yu-Gi-Oh Card, Many Printings

Yu-Gi-Oh reprints its cards more heavily than almost any other game, which is why the same card name can appear online at prices a hundred times apart.

From our own catalog: Blue-Eyes White Dragon exists in nearly sixty versions across more than fifty sets, and Dark Magician in around fifty versions across more than forty. Every printing is a different card to the market.

What makes Yu-Gi-Oh unusual is that the same card is reprinted at different rarities. One card can be a Common in one set and a Secret Rare in another, so the prices diverge enormously even though the text on the card is identical.

To identify your version, read the code in the bottom corner: the set's letter code followed by the card number. That code pins down exactly which set the card came from, and it is what you need in order to compare a price.

Also check the printed rarity and the treatment of the card name, since different rarities use different colouring and reflectivity on the name text.
