Selling Pokémon cards in bulk

Everyone who digs out an old box hits the same problem: hundreds of cards, no idea which matter, and no appetite for checking each one for a day. The answer is not to pick one approach — it is to split the pile correctly.

Why split at all

Across the whole Pokémon catalog on CardStreet, about 59% of cards are priced under THB 50. So more than half of what you are holding is not worth the time it takes to photograph and list individually. But that same pile usually contains a handful of cards valuable enough to change the total on their own.

The job is to find those few, and move the rest as a lot.

How to sort quickly

Look for three things first. Cards with a shiny or foil surface. Cards with something appended to the name — ex, GX, V or VMAX. And cards where the artwork fills the whole card with no border. Almost all of the value sits in those three groups. Ordinary cards matching none of them mostly land in the under-THB-50 band.

Once you have pulled those out, only check prices on that smaller pile. Scan them with the camera in the app, or search the collector number from the bottom of the card.

What to do with the rest

Low-value cards have two sensible routes. Sell the lot to a shop or a bulk buyer — less money, but done quickly. Or group them into themed lots, all one type or all one set, and sell those. The second usually pays better than an unsorted heap, because the buyer can see what they are getting.

What you should not do is throw them away. There is always demand for cheap cards in quantity, especially from people just starting who want a lot of cards for very little.

And anything you pull out worth a few hundred baht or more should be listed on its own. The gap between listing it individually and burying it in a bulk lot is usually many times the time it costs you.
