What Is Riftbound, and How to Start

Riftbound is the official collectible card game of the League of Legends universe, made by Riot Games. If you already play LoL you already know almost every character in it — Jinx, Yasuo, Ahri, Lux, Darius, Viktor, Teemo and many more.

What makes Riftbound different from the other games collectors here follow is how new it is. The first set, Origins, arrived in late 2025, followed by Origins: Proving Grounds, Spiritforged, Unleashed and most recently Vendetta. Five sets in total.

That number matters more than it looks. Pokemon runs to tens of thousands of cards and Yu-Gi-Oh to more than that, but the whole of Riftbound is a little over a thousand. A single collector can still realistically complete a set — an opportunity that has long since closed in older games.

Prices also still move quickly. A young game has not settled, and a card can swing tens of percent in a few months on competitive results and champion popularity. Check the price history chart before buying or selling, not just today's number.

There is no Thai-language Riftbound release, so what circulates here is the imported English printing, and few shops carry a full range.

For beginners, start with the champions you already play in LoL. It is more enjoyable and the decisions are easier. From there, move on to the Showcase cards, which carry the special artwork.
